When the kidneys stop working, the patients initially suffer from renal failure. If, in case, the renal failure continues, the toxic waste starts accumulating in the body and the end- stage renal disease can be treated in two ways – dialysis or transplantation. The causes for the end stage renal disease can be diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, or severe anatomical problems of the urinary tract. The transplant is the best treatment for the end stage renal disease because dialysis patients have been reported to suffer from severe medical problems like cancer or stomach infections, and eventually need transplantation.
